Sponsoring Athletes Of All Abilities

On the eve of the 2013 edition of March Madness, sports are at the forefront of many people’s minds.  While many will be on the edge of their seats watching the nail biting action that will fill the next few weeks, few will think much about the sponsors of the event. Sponsorship is often crucial to a sport or team’s success as it is these dollars that help finance equipment purchases as well as travel and other expenses.  One car manufacturer, Dodge, is making sure athletes of all abilities have the opportunity to compete against their peers.


Motorsports is a logical sponsorship realm for the company to explore being as they are a car manufacturer. This arm of the company just recently rebranded itself as SRT Motorsports. As it stands, teams competing under the SRT name can be found in a variety of motorsports series.

Global Rallycross is a heart pounding version of automotive racing. It combines circuit racing with elements of rally racing as well as off-road racing. The entire 2013 schedule has not been posted yet. However, one exciting announcement was announced Saturday, March 16. GRC racing will be making its debut at NASCAR’s bullring Bristol Motor Speedway on a custom designed track on Saturday, July 20th.

Extreme Sports

Fans of extreme sports will notice that the manufacturer also has quite a stake in these high adrenaline competitions. Recently, a joint partnership was announced between the manufacturer and the Red Bull Signature Series. The 2013 edition of the series kicked off in January. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, March 30 and can be seen on NBC. Check your local listings.

Motocross is another realm of extreme sports that the manufacturer has found a home in. Their involvement in motocross includes .Along with series involvement they also sponsor athlete Travis Pastrana on his continued journey through the high intensity world of extreme sports.

Disabled Athletics

Often one of the most overlooked groups of athletes in America is those with disabilities. Whether the disability results from a birth defect or a traumatic accident these athletes still compete to the best of their ability! Following their heart and passion, the manufacturer became a sponsor of the Challenged Athletes Foundation. According to their website the foundation recognizes the athletic greatness inherent in all people with physical challenges.

Dodge may have started out as just a vehicle manufacturer. However, through its many sponsorship roles, it has now made itself more accessible to everyone.
